Default Opinions on C5R kit?

Does anyone have any opinions on the Corvetteswest C5R LeMans Conversion kit as far as functionallity goes?

http://www.corvetteswestonline.com/c...products_id=28

I've been in touch with them on a number of occations but they stopped answering mails when I asked whether the hood really was vented or just for looks.

I'm running 305 front and 335 rear so the tires stick out and I need to widen the car to avoid a repaint every year. I'm also very interested in the aerodynamic benefits of using a rear wing aswell as a front spitter. Car is used as a racecar for road race trackdays.

Do you know of anyone running this kit on the track with improved laptimes?

Should I go with this kit or do you know anything else that would fit the purpose better? Budget is around $4000

call and ask for Kerry Hitt. Tell them to leave a message to him that you want to spend money mention my name and he will charge you double.

Kerry is good you just need to call a time or two.

The hood does not have open vents. Looks only. The only thing good is the wing which there are some out there lighter in weight, but it is a good rear wing.

I contacted (and got answer) Kerry 2 months ago.
Since then he was not able to contact me about parts.
I sent lot´s of email (which is cheaper and easier from here, than calling)and only got an answer about 3 weeks ago that he will get in contact with me "soon".
Not heard from him since then.

I think no customer should be treated like that, no matter how much work one has

If the vent shape is in the hood then you should be able to cut it open to be functional.

Emailing companies doesn't always work. I've found numerous times that it's just better to just call, and if you leave a message to keep calling, because they don't always call back.

I gave up on Kerry over a year ago when I had to literally fight persistently to ask even a few questions about placing my order...

I refuse to fight that hard to spend $20K with someone that clearly doesn't need or want the business...

AND nothing has changed either!

What a pitty!

Ofcourse calling is better but just like Austrian Vette mentioned, e-mailing is better for us located in Europe. I've seen post from Kerry on this board so I know he's online allright

I have a complete C6 WC body for sale, save a huge amount, get a newer style car, etc.....it fits fine on a C5 chassis and has been done a few times.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/auto...lutch-etc.html

http://www.corvetteracebodies.com/wo...ice%20list.htm

And no waiting, ready to pack up and ship

I have a great international shipping agent I use for my business, very good rates, but if you have one it would be wise to compare.

I may be interested in the body, although I only wanted a front splitter, untertray and rearsopiler.
But I would need to see pictures of how it would look installed.

Check with Davidfarmer here, he was probably the first one to do this

I am going to look at Blackdogs site now myself!

Back from Blackdog, some nice stuff for sure, way cool shop, not a complete package available like I have though

The only issue when installing this is the shorter wheelbase of the C5 which brings the rear tires closer to the front of the opening. BUT, much better weight distribution going that route or you can change to a C6 sub frame, etc....which I considered and decided I liked handling better ( I have seen at least one if not two other rebodied C5's and did not even notice it was different anyway

PM me if you know somebody in your countries interested in distribution of my products

Rick

my car is a C5 frame rebodied as a C6 for World Challenge. Kerry Hitt did all the body panels.
I bought the car this way, so I don't know how difficult the rebody is.
