Default Road Race: Which targa top, glass or painted

I'm enrolled for my first road course on March 10th and wanted to know which targa top is best (lightest/strongest...) to use.
I have both the glass top and the painted top.

I searched but didn't find any worthwhile results.

Thanks,

On the C4's the see through top is lighter plus has more headroom. The frame provides the same amount of rigidity so either is fine that way.

Normal. The sun light and shadows through the glass top can get distracting

I went from the glass top to the solid top because of the glare and because the sun beating down all day was brutal.

As mentioned There is less headroom so you might not have a choice.

I've not had issues with glare/sun in the past with regular driving and the weather is expected to be pretty cool (probably 60 degrees or cooler and the windows will be down) so not an issue for heat. Given the experience level of you guys, I'll probably just use the painted one..
I'll have to check clearance though as I've only ever warn my helmet with the glass targa.

Thanks!

may have to readjust your seat.

Put the rear part of the seat bottom all the way down.

Adjust the front part of the seat bottom, up to your legs / knees.

Then adjust your seat back to your sitting position.

The clear tops get really hot here in Florida. I use the painted one.

I use a "glass" roof on my C5, great head room, and its what the car came with, lol! Never had a heat or glare problem with it.

I use the glass top. More head room and it's lighter. I've never noticed a glare problem. If it gets to hot while waiting on grid, turn on the AC! If no AC, I don't think you will notice a difference between tops but I've never tried the painted one.

Glass tops give the car a romantic feel inside a racecar

I'll be sure to bring my Berry White CD and burn some incense.

Use the glass top with some vinyl sheets stuck to the inside so it blocks out the sun. You get the benefit of lighter weight, more headroom, less heat in the cabin and no glare.
