All four quarter panels are destroyed, front and rear bumper covers destroyed, drivers side door destroyed, front bumper, radiator, oil cooler, etc... all gone. LF suspension wiped-out.
All told it was going to be north of $13,000 to fix the car.
It just didn't make sense to spend that much fixing it when the C5 has a limited life remaining in T1, and isn't really competative at the big events any more. Even Tom Sloe, with all of his prep, engine building, and driving skills, was 2+ seconds off of pole at the Runoffs in his.
Spending the extra money building an LS3 C6 is a better long-term "investment" (if you can call pissing away tons of money racng an investment!) in terms of years of eligibility remaining, and current performance vs the C5.
I found a theft recovery insurance auction 2005 C6 with the motor, cooling package, roof top, wheels, and seats stolen for a real good price. Colton and the great folks at Corvette Recyclying have been great helping me buy that car, and buying my old car from me.
I found a brand new complete crate LS3 for a great price from Jim Norman at Jennings Chevrolet in Illinois.
I don't think I have the money to finish the car before this summer, so I may have the cage, suspension, and all chassis work done right away, and than have the car sit until I can swing the ARE dry sump system, engine harness, new radiator, coolers, and all associated lines, etc...
Taking a year off will suck, but at least i'm in one piece!

Good shot Dave :-( I hate seeing my car like that. Front suspension on the other side was totally destroyed. Knuckle broken into three piece, a brand new AP rotor broken into three pieces, control arms twisted like pretzels, tie rod end shattered!

Sorry for rekindling old and bad memories.

I was able to get a few from Jason Isley from Sports Car Magazine, he was in the tower above where I got the wall. Picture shows the concrete wall split in half and pushed in.
Back to the regularly scheduled program, bump for a great guy to do business with.

I bought the old car new, and put 112,000 miles on it, including lots of race miles over nearly ten years. She served me well, but it will be sad to see her go!
