Default Heat Related Vibration at Track Speeds

I was out at Thunderhill recently with my C6Z06. All was well until 2+ laps into the 3rd session when I noticed a significant vibration on the straight that continued at speed from then on. I pulled off and checked the car over but saw no issues. Went out on the 4th session, all was well until 2+ laps and the vibration returned.

Off track there is no vibration.

My track setup is 295x30 front and 335x30 rear Toyo R888 on 18x11 and 18x13 Corsair wheels with 45psi hot track pressure. The car has an ACPT carbon fiber drive shaft with one rubber guibo and one aluminum guibo replacement. It also has ZR1 hubs front and rear.

I'm having the car checked out now but I thought someone might have encountered something like this before. My best guess is that it might be some form of internal tire flaw that requires track temps and speed to be noticeable. Other than trying a different set of tires I'm not sure how to check this out.

Anyone encounter something like this before?

Check the wheel weights and tie rod ends.

make sure all the a-arm bolts are tight.

rear axle nuts are tight. ( these have loosed up on the C6s)

Good Luck

no excessive rubber "pick up"? It almost has to be tire related, as I can't think of anything else that changes relative to heat except brakes, and they generally only cause issues when you are actually braking.

I didn't mention earlier that the car has Pfadt spherical control arm bearings.

My mechanic found that there was excessive play in the rear right upper front spherical bearing. He felt that there was enough play to cause the high speed vibration. Since the others were OK this may just have been a defective bearing. The spherical bearings have been on the car for about a year.

I just ordered a bearing rebuild kit for this bearing from Pfadt. It was $15.

Hopefully, this will resolve the problem.

if it is only at high speeds, wheel/tire balancing is what I would look at.
also, 45 psi -

45psi is about right for R888 hot pressures... just the way they work.
