Conversely this is the SE div.'s LAST 2011 race, and its something new(at least to me) a regional/national.
We have only 1 T1(Mr. Murphy) car signed up in reg, 1 in national (Mr Ingle)
We have 5 STO guys signed up in reg, 6 in National.
Good luck this weekend Joe!!

Rumor has it that Mr Murphy did not get his car back together and will not be racing. Something about paying customer comes first. Nashville for sure!

At least my dad was there for you to talk to about the "really old times"
Qual
1. A Aquilante 1:20.3
2. Loomis 1:20.4
3. Sanders 1:20.6
4. Gaudette 1:20.7
5. Neff 1:21.0
6. Landis 1:22.0
7. J Aquilante 1:23.1
8. Warren 1:25.5
They only gave us 1 qualifying session in the afternoon, the morning was "practice" still not sure what happened there but made for a crazy wild session. The group before us oiled up the track good and it was hot and greasy so the times were off for everyone. Warren spun in oil from a GT1 car and got the tires in Turn 10 and had just enough damage to end the weekend and Andrew took a hard lick into the turn 1 wall after a mechanical failure. Both drivers are ok but Andrew was very sore.
Race
1. Sanders 1:19.6
2. Loomis 1:19.8
3. Neff 1:19.1
4. Gaudette 1:19.5
5. J Aquilante 1:21.5
6. Landis 1:21.7
Warren and Andrew DNS
Loomis led for the first half of the race and he bobbled in 10 and I got him then the very next lap a GT1 car drilled me in turn 4 and I went for a ride in the dirt and kept it off the wall and came back on the track at turn 5 and keep going without losing a position. Luckily we went to full course caution that lap with a car stopped on track and I was able to check my shorts. We went back to green with me, Loomis, Neff and Gaudette lined up and went at it for the last 7 laps with no position changes but it was not for a lack of trying. Good fast clean racing!

Hadn't planned on running Summit as I didn't think my work schedule would support, but at the last minute my schedule cleared up and I decided to go - glad I did as that was one of the most enjoyable races I've ever had.
My original intent was only to show up and run and get to know a track I had never been to before. Brought old tires, old brakes - that plan fell apart when I was running low 1:20s in practice right on pace with Andrew, Dave, Bill and Joe G. Broke down and bought brake pads off Judy, tires off Joe A. and gave it my best shot.
As mentioned, qual was pretty bad for everyone (particularly Andrew and Judy as Dave explained). I did a horrible job getting a clean lap and qualified well off my pace, but at the tail of 5 Corvettes all within 0.7 sec of each other. Knew it would shape up to be a fun race.
With Andrew out, I tucked in behind Joe G. at the start and followed him for a lap or two before passing him into 1, then followed Dave and Bill for half the race. Got a great start after a double yellow and drove around Bill and made an ill fated attempt on the outside of Dave in 1 which took me out into the marbles and Bill went back inside me. Oh well.
Really looking forward to getting back on the track. Next stop Watkins Glen on July 9-10.

Thanks for posting the video Dave. Unfortunately, my video camera was knocked before the race and pointing at the dashboard for the race. It was an exciting race and I look forward to Wakins Glen, this was my 4th race in the car and the most enjoyable yet, I think I am comfortable with the car now. That GT1 car contact with Dave before turn 5 was crazy, with a yellow flag there and a stalled car blocking half the track at the corner and he goes for a pass. I practically came to a stop there, didn't want any part of that! Great seeing everyone and I hope for a big T1 turnout at the Glen. Bill
