Default Question re: oil starvation - specific track

http://www.speedventures.com/events/...il.aspx?id=351

I am going to run my 2004 c5z on this track which includes about 1/2 or a little more of the banked oval at Auto Club Speedway Fontana CA.

I'll have street tires & DOT R slicks available.

The speeds entering the banked section are about 80mph & if you have the grip & cajones are about 150 before you brake hard to get back to the infield road course.

Turning left CCW on the banks.

I'm guessing 15-20 seconds on the bank at speed.

I did 5 (passenger) sessions yesterday in an older pretty stock 911 & he was at 120 terminal velocity flat out & lower on the bank. The GT3's & GT3 cup were up a couple of lanes & doing about 25 or more faster.

Should I have any concerns re any oil pressure/foaming/pickup. Will run +1 qt.

Maybe a Hans?

Thanks, no guesses, please post if you have real (similar) data.

Never a problem with either our C5 or C6 Z at Fontana. But as you spec'ed out 0ne quart over and at end of day check for oil in throtttle body.We run 1-2 lbs of extra air in right side tires.

I don't have a catch can, do you just wipe out the excess? I have seen a little in the folds of the air bridge ahead of the throttle, when I autox.

There were 3 or 4 c5z/c6z running yesterday. No blown engines. Maybe the banking helps compared to pulling G's in a more flat sweeper?

we see almost 2 G's at Charlotte IIRC, through nascar 3/4 you're up there a long time. so far the engine hasn't minded, 24 degrees banking, about 153 mph entry and you don't have to slow very much

I've run Daytona, Homestead, Charlotte, Atlanta Motor Speedway, Pocono, Rockingham, and several other banked tracks and I never had any issues with the LS6. I just ran it at full...not 1 qt over.
