Although very similar in layout the C5 and C6 substructures are different. The A Pillar on the C6 isn't sloped as much. The top of the A Pillar is about an inch and a half further forward than the C5 pillar. GM did that to improve car entry. The C6 wheelbase is a little longer and I believe the body is a little shorter. They did that to cut down on the overhang. LG fit a C6 body to their C5 World Challenge car and David did it but you would have to ask them how they handled those issues.

aero slight ( less width so less frontal area) expense has to be huge for parts and then tons of work if you are doing it yourself or paying someone. Tire clearance would be nice! May be if you had a salvage chassis

I do like the looks of the C6 racecars. They are sexy in a racecar sort of way..
But I would only do that if I was building a new race car. It's more work than you will get back in return..
Bigger tires? I run 315 fronts and soon to 345 rears on a C5 chassis. Can't get much bigger than that.
What would help is do away with the FRC roof and go with a coupe style roofline for better aero like the C6.

race car only, you'd never get a street car to work. Shortening the front of the frame is easy enough, but the door jam sheet metal is completely different, as well as the door hinge area. The door latches are reversed, and I don't ever seeing getting them to work properly
I think an aftermarket C5 body it of another sort would be much easier and better quality than you'd ever achieve.

Ken, I'll save you some time and trade you my blue car for your blue car.
And of course the logical next question is...
Can you put a C6 body on a C4?

My track ratt is a C5 chassis with C6 panels on it, along with a C6Z drivetrain. Most would not be able to tell except the rear hatch is still a C5 hatch. Panels fit pretty well, and it was not expensive to do at all, so dont let people who havn't done it sway your decision if your looking to do it. I did not build this car (no time for that- something about a shoe maker comes to mind..) but I have taken it apart to finish it off the way I wanted it, and it is not hard to put together at all.
It is not a "factory" fit though, but for a gutted out track car it worked out rather well IMO. The nose is a C6Z front end, and aero is on it's way, but here is some pics from when I got it. It has changed a bit now, but you get the idea. Total weight is just over 2700lbs without driver all said and done.
Good luck with your build if you choose to do it.

Doug what did you do for the door latch? You pull the rod inside the door or does the external latch still work?
I hate the friggin' C6 mechanism. Dumbest thing I've ever seen on a street car.
