Default Mocal engine oil adapter...built in thermostat

I just recently saw this. Obviously it will fit and LS engine, but has anyone used it in a Vette? With the temp sender sticking out the top, and very little room to negotiate oil lines, I just wonder how well it works out. Even the DRM unit (very nice piece) is difficult to install with the engine in the car

Why worry about it? After driving for years with no stat in my cooler, I see no need.

I have Customer interested in the thermostat, plus it is cheaper than many of the adapters

Has anyone called Mocal about this? They are a pretty solid company.

Yes I have and they explained to me that they can't design it to work with all the model year cars. For me it wouldn't clear my headers and even tried different type fittings, *90 banjo and still no luck. In the end, I used their standard Mocal *200 degree thermostat. All is good

Agree. Without a stat, my stand alone cooler gets to 190F on the street with light highway driving because I put a little home-made cover (header wrap, cardboard, styrofoam) over it. Even at the end of November, it still hits 180.

Unless you want to drive the car when it's below 30-40 outside a lot in the winter, then I don't see the need. The cover is easily removed...I do it at the track or in the garage before I leave. You don't have to jack the car up or anything to get the cover off...all you need is a pair of scissors to cut the zip tie.
