Default Pre Heat Cycle or Not

I have been having my Hoosier R6's heat cycled by Tire Rack before I pick them up. Is this a waste of money as I have noticed a lot of cars running sticker tires at the tracks.

I am no expert, and I am sure other more experienced "track hounds" will chime in, but my rep. at Hoosier Tire says heat cycling is a total waste of time, because they do it on a machine, and cannot replicate the real world conditions. Also, Hoosier does not offer this service, which should tell you something.

My heat cycling is taking my car to a very large vacant lot and doing a slolam from one end to the other, starting with "figure eights". 5-10 minutes easy, 5-10 minutes medium, and 5-10 minutes pushing it pretty hard. It works fine for me.

I have purchased both Hoosiers and Kumho V710 tires heat cycled from the Trie Rack. I have also purchased them not heat cycled. I can't tell any difference between the performance or longevity either way. I no longer spend the $ to heat cycle.
