Thanks. Gotta do the front mounts and I'm probably going to make control arm bearing cups next. Once I install them I'm going to change my front spring rate as well since my initial decision was based on the wrong motion ratio and I want to increase my wheel rate difference to +15% in the rear.

Does anyone have very accurate front and rear unsprung mass measurements with stock brakes?

Would you mind sharing more information on the parts you are planning to use? Are you using an off the shelf bearing? I'm using C5 suspension on my tube frame car, and I would love to make this work.

I can take some weights for you on the suspension parts if nobody has them.

Thanks
Ken

The upper mounts are using Aurora HAB-10T's and I'm not sure yet what the control arms will use. They'll be the largest ID and widest race I can fit which is starting out with the Aurora AWC-12T. I shouldn't need the wall thickness I have now on the bearing inserts so I'm sure that will go up to one of the bearings with an .875" ID.

Yehaww, fronts are finally done. Had them done by a shop since two are going to a special project for someone else and need to be a little nicer than mine.

All I need now is to cut some 10mm ID bushings and a sunny day off.

Damn. This car is beast. I put the spherical upper mounts in this weekend and they feel spectacular. Part of the improvement is because one of the front bushings was completely shot and pushed through the chassis mount so the shock basically couldn't pivot. None the less, the suspension feels so much smoother all around.

Couple that with a change in front rebound settings on the shocks and this car feels unfreakingbelievable.

Looking forward to converting the control arms to sphericals.

Then I get to come into work and park with my buddies.

Any chance I can get those weights?

I weighed parts trying to get a more accurate unsprung weight for a C5/C6 and this is what I came up with.

CCW 1 piece with Hoosier 315/30-18 = 50 lbs
CCW 1 piece with Hoosier 335/30-18 = 52 lbs
CCW 1 piece with Hoosier 345/30-18 = 54 lbs
StopTech hat & Rotor 380x32 = 21 lbs
StopTech hat & rotor 355x32 = 19 lbs
StopTech hat & rotor (rear with parking brake) 355x32 = 20 lbs
Knuckle = 6 lbs
Wheel bearing = 8.5 lbs
Parking brake assembly = 3.5 lbs
Caliper ST-60 with pads = 12 lbs
Caliper ST-40 with pads = 11 lbs
Caliper mount bracket = 1 lb
Tie rod end (hanging weight) = 1.5 lbs
Upper A-arm (hanging weight) = 1 lb
Lower A-arm (hanging weight) = 5 lbs
½ shaft C6 (hanging weight) = 14 lbs

Just curious, is the cover bolt pattern different?

OP,

Any interest in designing a trailer hitch for the C7? (For us track guys who want to tow track wheel trailers)

Using past Curt designs as a guide, it looks do-able, but tricky. Biggest impediment seem to be how to connect to the frame side rails amidst all the clutter. Although the exhaust tips are closely spaced I think a reciever would fit just below the two center tips and still clear the facia.

That is certainly a unique request. Is this for a C7? I could add it to my list of stuff if you're serious but I'm swamped right now so it could be 6 months before I have time to think about it.

I'm looking into C7 rear toe adjusters for higher camber setups and 2015 Mustang adjustable rear upper control arms. I'm finishing up my C5/6 spherical shock mount designs and hope to have them on a well known race shops (and forum sponsor) car soon. I'm finishing up custom shock mounts for a Volvo S60R with airbags as well as S60R rear spherical shock mounts, a front roll center correction kit, and lightweight crank pulley.

Something that looks like this.

Fronts are tougher since there just isn't much room to work with.

Who makes the ones in the pic? Can't make out the name.

I second or third this idea. I have the Banski Motorsports which are good but the fronts take up to much of the stack.

I'm not sure what you mean, they extend too low below the mount or they take up too much of the 10mm pin length?

Definitely serious, if you have the time. I see that your plate is pretty full for now. I'm hoping to come up with a mock-up sometime, just to address clearance issues. If I do, I'll ceratinly pass it along.

Already been done, but to use the correct material for the blades and the time involved in making it. A set of sway bars (done correctly) would be very expensive to do given the limited number that would be done.

If anyone is interested we could entertain doing them. Need more than 20 to make it plausible.
