Default 305/30/19 NT01 on C6 Z06 12" Rear

Ive heard of some people running a little stretched tires because it improves sidewall stiffness. Running a 305 on a 12" would be along these lines, but my understanding is that the nitto NT01 already is a bit narrow. Can a 305 NT01 be used on a 12" C6 Z06 rear wheel in autox/hpde situations?

You'd be better off looking at the Bridgestone RE-11 in 325/19. I've heard they upgraded the rubber to the re-11a spec rubber but didn't put the a designation on the tire.

For Auto-x they would be better than nt01, for trackdays they wouldn't be far off.

I assume you mean this because of the time they take to warm up, but the same would be true for hoosiers and they are still much faster than a tire like RE11. On top of that, since I am in Florida, it usually doesn't take much time for them to warm up.

Ive heard that people used to run the 305/19 RS3 on C6 Z06 wheels so im hoping some of those guys would chime in here.

I understand your thoughts about the side wall not wanting to move around, but I don't know if I would give up the rubber at that point....

Most of the 325's are not really that oversized that they are going to budge out that much over the wheel on these cars. If you were comparing a 345 I would say that is going to walk around a bit on you though.

FWIW we ran a 275 tire on a 10.5" wheel in the front and 335's on 12" wheels in the challenge cars.

The GA vette ran a 305 on the front with a 11" and 305 at the rear on 11.5.

tire size was spec for the cars, but we did have some room on wheel width.

I meant this because Nitto has never been a "go to" autocross tire. Because of their treadwear they get smoked by the likes of Hooiser. The re-11 and re-11a on the otherhand were a front runner untill the release of the re71r and bfg released the Rival and Rival S.

I am aware that the hoosiers are better, but I want a tire that I could drive to the event with them installed (not really trying to be competitive in terms of SCCA rules since my car is head/cam which makes it XP, but would still like to be as fast as possible while meeting these requirements). The R888 are another option but the 325 size are considerably more expensive. I was thinking of going with the NT01 because Ive heard alot of good things about them, I just want to know if its possible to run the 305 NT01 on the C6 12" rim without risk of damage to the tire or any other dangerous scenarios.

Nitto has a 325/30/19 nt01 listed on their website. I'm not sure if it is a new size or what, because I can't find any online dealers that have it listed.

Ive seen that too but no one seems to have it. I just want to know if running the 305 NT01 would be safe. I know that some here have run 305 RS3 on C6 Z06 wheels, but Ive also heard that the NT01 run a little thinner than most.
