Any tips for wiper arm removal?
As the title says, any tips on wiper arm removal? I'm actually working on a '66 GTO but the wiper arms look similar to my C2. There is a little metal tab just under the arm near the shaft. Do I pry it down with a screwdriver? I have a wiper blade removal tool but think it is more geared toward Ford wiper arms. It's the type shaped like the letter L with a tab on one end that hooks on the arm end and pries over the top of the arm. This car is fresh out of paint and one arm is on wrong and goes too far down onto the cowl.

I bought that tool and could never get it to work. I finally used a paint can opener. I started a thread about it. If you click on my users name you can look up the thread. The tool wouldent work because there was a build up of overspray in the splines for the wiper heads,

Tool is so easy to use it's scary. When you have the tool and the arm pulled up together, just wobble a little bit as you lift, and up she pops.

Thanks guys. That's exactly the tool I have but my first attempt didn't work well. Like the idea of the tape where you (Hinkley) indicate. So I take it, no need to mess with that little metal tab? (See Pic)
Little tab on the arm end by the shaft...do I need to mess with it to allow the arm to pull off?

NO. Disregard the tab. Use tool as shown in Post 3. Wobble just a bit as you lift. That's it.

Tape and towels. They pop lose sometimes suddenly and motor control skills don't always react quick enough.
