......and yes, if you're getting steam in defrost mode, the core may be leaking. Is the heat control **** stuck out away from the dash?
The heat control **** I can push and pull , but the valve will stuck open.

The heater core leaks !! Not so much!! I can't see a big change.

So I have to change the heater core! I did this on an other car already.

I do this from inside, right? Like the service guide says.

Yes, it comes out from the inside. Be extra careful of the fiberglass air inlet in the engine bay. It breaks easily.

Take the unit out as an assembly and take it apart on the bench.

Do I have to drain the radiator? Where? Or just lower the hoses at the heater or at the water pump or engine to drain the fluid?

There's still fluid in that core, so if you remove the hoses at the core, it'll still drain more.

IMO, it's easier to drain at the petcock of the radiator. Level about half way down(about 2 gallons or so in the drainpan) so it's below the heater hoses. Since the heater valve is open most will drain out of the core.

I looked for the petcock of the radiator, couldn't find it.

It should be on the passenger side of the car. Look through the grille opening. It'll be just above a hole in the lower part of the radiator support.

It's possible someone put a plug there instead of the petcock drain.

If so be very careful you don't damage the radiator. If it looks like trouble, maybe go back to the hose removal ideas.

Each is held in by 2 Phillips head screws into the underside of the decklid. You may see the original holes there.
