TC, go to BANGSHIFT.COM and look for a video of Brent Jarvis driving a BB 65 vette around Road America, awesome.

He puts that particular number out nationally in the Hemmings and on his business cards that he passes around. Just ring him and say, Hey is this David. I have an old 1966 Coupe looking for some rear bumpers! Some of the Corvette guys here in California said you probably would have some.

Seghi, You sound like a cool guy, but I don't know you,and my reputation with guys like this are important, very important. But people buy stuff from him constantly, so the only reason why I am giving the tips, is for a guy that might want to become the customer that gets invited over. Some people are just all wound up and all serious and impatient and his operation is one guy, who lists up what he is peddling at the moment, but he has piles and piles of parts and keeps track of most of it in his head. He usually has had a little notebook tablet on a little table that he writes you name and number down on and what you were inquiring about or if he has it, then you both figure out how to make the deal.

Or just go to the normal shops and pay more or get the reproduction stuff like all of the modern NCRS types! I have zero reproduction stuff on my cars, to include all of my fiberglass even though i have had a number of high speed OOPS!, zero!!!!!!!!! because of some of my parts connections, such as David and others.

Default I have ran from them and that is not fun.

You being an old Mulholland guy, when you get that situation, from experience you have to move fast and bail! Anyone not paying attention, can get arrested, is my opinion!

I usually never wandered too far from the car. I parked strategically to leave fast. Had the exit plan in my head prior to even arriving. I had like my brake light on switch, when I had the go pedal floored! Then I had the brake and tail light kill! We also had the light the trash dumpster on fire diversion trick and other things that I had better not mention!

Yeah I won't mention you when I call Dave. I know how to play it.

I never needed a taillight kill switch. They never got close enough.
And I never was more than a few feet from my car.

If you hit it off with him, you can mention me and if not, please don't! Either way, his price is his price!

Those switches have been installed in a few of my cars specifically for the racing, but they were also effective for the cops! Even if I could seriously outrun one, I would rather have them go chase you!

Default Canyon Racing was getting pretty serious on Turnbull!

The cops came in from both Whittier side and Hacienda side one time perfectly coordinated, and it wasn't the first time that they did a two jurisdiction raid on us (LA County Sheriffs and Whittier PD), but i left my girlfriend standing there because she was too far away from the car and wasn't going to make it because her infraction not being a driver or car owner would be a warning more than likely! She did go for another gals car (non-racer VW bug, but they were caught! But we had it figured out, and she was happy to see me get away and i knew she would handle the police. It was just a matter of figuring out how to get back in to get her, but the police felt sorry for her and less so for the friend who was ticketed. And one time they took her back to the station where she could call someone. So I play acted as her step brother to pick her up, telling the desk Officer that I hope they get her jerk boyfriend (me!)! She liked to flag all of the cars off on their runs, is one reason why she would be elsewhere! Thus throw the flag in the bushes and act all innocent and she could cry on Q!

It looks like a frog about to hop if you are looking at it from behind

Check with J & D Corvette, not that far from you. I have similar flares from them on my car. The fronts look identical, maybe an inch wider.

The rears come down more like the fronts, covering the back of the tire 'til they level off and rejoin the stock rear quarter panel.

Less mud splash and rock chipping that way!

And with over 50 years of molds saved, they might have the EXACT ones too!

Sorry, jumped from the picture of the blue SWC to the end. Looking at the interim pages I see you're probably keeping the Thumpers. Nothing wrong with that decision, they are a rare and "period" touch on a C2. I almost bought some from the guy back about 1982.

Default I'll try not to do anymore rambling on the Canyon Racing, but

JD Corvette never had a Thumpers beltline styled flare in their catalog and they never were an outlet for them, but they could have purchased a set just like anyone else for a customer request.I have their catalogs going back to the 1960's

No, I meant "the man" who manufactured and sold Thumper flares. Met him at an Arco station at 182nd and Prairie in Torrance. Hung 'em on my car and decided against them. I ended up with J&D "late C3 copy" flares, still on the car today.

If I can get some color prints scanned, I'll post 'em.

Default Jaime has been the guy at JD Corvette for years

They were a number #1 category fiberglass innovator and all related to fiberglass in their own right, going back to the early 1960's. They had unique fiberglass offerings, like a dual snorkel hood that was similar to the Grand Sport unit at Nassau. They had their own radiused and ZL1 style flares, but beltline Thumpers no! I didn't want Jaime to be going crazy answering calls about such. Also I think they lost a bunch of those older molds. They wanted to mold up some of my stuff, but I passed on doing that. I therefore didn't continue on with that conversation, because I could not think of anything that they had, that I needed in trade and then I would prefer to not have alot of these Thumper flared cars around. I decided to make myself a spare set of my fenders. I have to try to find my large Thumper rears, because I think my Father tossed out some of my stuff, because those units haven't turned up in awhile.

My friend who have known since 11th grade auto shop is bringing his son over to help me take out the motor and trans.

My friend does high racing engines and head porting at P.H.D. in Bakersfield Ca. Very highly recommended.

Here is my friend Greg (shaved head) who I have known since 11th grade auto shop with his boy who is 24 now. Interesting side note, I can remember holding him and his little brother in my hands when they were born. Damn we're getting old.
