Driveshaft question.

Driveshaft question.
I bought a used driveshaft for my '66 L79 without reading the fineprint. It is in excellent condition, but it has a 2.25" diameter and the old one had a 2" diameter. The length is the same. Did the powerglide have a different diameter driveshaft, or is the seller full of it? I thought all c2 driveshafts were the same diameter regardless of engine size or transmission.

"2". All midyears, whether 250hp Powerglides or L-88's, used exactly the same driveshaft."

That may be a C3 driveshaft.
I have one that diameter and it even has a harmonic balancer on the front yoke. It was a service driveshaft and the balancer was supposed to get rid of some NVH in Turbo Hydramatic applications.

Here's an article I did last year about driveshafts. More than any normal person needs to know.
