Default Mazda Miata Transformed Into Classic Corvette

A man customized his 2004 Miata to look like a 1957 Corvette, complete with the classic red and white paint scheme and chrome grille.

Well, I like Miatas and appreciate how Mazda has stayed true to its original vision. And glad it sells enough to stay in production.

BUT, I really don't care for this Miata at any level. It has not been "transformed" into a Vette. I am sure it took a lot of work. But to me it looks cartoonish. But if the owner loves it, that is what matters.

I like it. Tastefully done. Except I'd change the emblem on the front to a C1 flag

Several years back, you could get a tuner Miata with a V8. It was called a Monster Miata. I thought the available engines were all F**ds, but in checking, I find a lot with Chebby engines:

I wonder if he wanted to park on the grounds at Carlisle if they would let him in?

Maybe they should make that an exhibit at the show? All the non-corvette cars made to look like corvettes. Call it the 'Envious Exhibit'.

I hope it is automatic; otherwise, he probably has a hard time clutching with Birkenstocks.

Of course it's tacky but it's also interesting how just a few superficial touches makes it clear what he's going for. White paint and some chrome strips. He could have skipped the badges and it still would have been obvious.

Default It Reminds Me

......many years ago when I taught and coached in Oregon we played a couple of charity Basketball games against ex-Portland Trailblazers with local TV and Radio there.....after one game I had three or four little kids ask for my autograph; the point being other people actually aspired to be around ME...well, I got that same rush when someone decided to mimic MY CAR......as Vin Diesel said in XXX, "Geez, it was only a Vette."

I don't hate it. The Miata (especially the newest version) is actually not a bad little car. No Corvette, to be sure, but they don't pretend to be. OK, well, maybe THIS one does. I can't see doing this myself, enjoy the car for what it is . . . but to each their own. We should just appreciate the flattery.

P.S. - It looks more like the tarted-up version of Pixar's "Lightning McQueen" in "Cars" . . .

I'm sure it was a lot of hard work and I commend that. It does look well done. I just don't think it looks any more real than some of those golf cart conversions.

IF someone is trying to customize their Miata, they did a nice job. If their trying to say it looks like a 57 Vette, they failed..... completely.
