Write off as a loss or get an attorney.

X2. This is not uncommon, and the customer always loses. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear. Check with the family/estate... hopefully you have some things in writing. Good luck. BTW, there are some solid builders in PHX.

Couple options things get your paperwork in order and talk with the family about the motor, you are probably not the only person and they might just want to get rid of the engines sitting in the guys shop. If you paid by credit card then file a complaint and see where that takes you. If not take a day flight out to Phoenix and visit the shop which is probably in the guys garage and see what you can do face to face.

I have heard nothing but good things with Phoenix Engines and they seem to be very quick with their engine builds or rebuilds.

If you have evidence of ownership and an agreement ( even by email) you need to meet with the family now. If the family sold the engine they need to retrieve it.
