Default '66 L79 roadster restoration complete

The owner of a local repair shop in town bought this car last summer. He restored the engine and chassis then brought it to a body shop for body repairs and paint. The car sat there for 3 months and was never touched. He pulled it out and sat another couple months at his shop when I said I would do the body work and paint. He dropped it off Jan. 4 and the work began. I knew the body had issues and anticipated replacing rear quarters, right front fender apron and parking light panel. Like always, after digging a little deeper, other issues were found. That along with him asking me to just finish the car extended a 6 week project to 16. My wife breaking her leg on Feb. 1st didn't help matters.

He picked up the car yesterday with him only needing to get a new driver side door panel since the one he had was too warped.

He was real excited to see his new ride.

Here are some before and after shots.

New quarters already on the car. It had some homemade flares when I got it.

Just wanted to add, I used SPI epoxy and clearcoat and Wanda base coat which totaled <$900.

Very nice looking color combo. I hope he gets it settled down as it's sitting pretty high. Dennis

Default Nice work

Great job. If I ever decide to paint the 67, you are the kind of body/paint man I want. Kudos.

Thanks guys. Yes, the owner put new springs in front and rear and noticed the same thing. He may cut down the fronts.

I've got it's twin but a 65 with blue interior, small block hood and different wheels. Love your wheels. What brand are they?
