Congratulations on your new acquisition. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with it. If you do not have an Owner's Manual for it, you should get one. An AIM (Assembly Instruction Manual) would also be a good investment.

Many times the cables for those ***** have come off the pins that operate the kick panel vents or the flapper doors in the vents have rotted rubber. So, operating the ***** doesn't seem to do anything. When operating correctly those ***** should produce a pretty distinct sound at the kick panels as the flapper seals the vent.

2015 C2 of Year Finalist
I would suggest spending ten bucks and buying a repro owners manual and read the basics about your car

The one on the left is for the smoke screen. And the right one drops the oil slick behind you. That's for those jealous tail gators who think "I got a fast car too!"

They rotate the headlights when the electrical connections fail...
You just move/pump the 'levers' in and out real fast to rotate them...
That way you don't have to use that little 'wheel' on the back of the motors...

You can watch The Great Race, and it does the same thing the button on the Hannibal Twin 8, driven by Professor Fate does: you push it in and the car raises up on accordion stilts!

Seriously, pretty much EVERY American car built from 1957 to about 1970 has these ***** to open the kick panel vents. I guess the OP is a young guy!

My 68 Corvette does not have those, so I wasn't certain when I picked up my 64. I did finally get a reproduction User Manual.
Just put New Rims on and Glazed, Waxed & Waxed it too. Fixed the Gas Guage & replaced a sketchy Front Wiring Harness making my Parking/Turn Lights Function. Probably gonna hit a few more Harnesses just for Safety.
Heres how she sits now.
Wheels are American Racing wheels Torque Thrusts w/ 225/50R17 Michelin
