Default 64 door panel carpet removal and new install

guys, I have a 64 roadster with fairly new interior door panels. I want to remove the carpet from the bottom of the panels. I need any advise I can get. how is the carpet attached to the panel? if it can be removed, what do I need to do to install new pieces?

I have never delt with fiberboard door panels. I'll go out on a limb and say they are glued. I would think you can peel the carpet off (may need a release agent) and glue the new on. Dennis

I'm wondering why you want to remove the carpet from the panel? If it's because of fading, you can easily dye them to get them back to original color.

my door panel carpet is black hook and loop. I want to change to cut pile in a lighter shade of maroon to match some new leather seats, armrests, and a custom console. I have been told by a couple of upholstery guys that the black would be a problem going to something that is a lighter color. any ideas on removal/install or alternatives are appreciated.
thanks,phil
