Show car quality C2 frame for sale
Sold pending payment locally to ddsharp. Am holding it for him and he says he will pick up weekend of Feb 20. In no hurry to sell as I have had it since 2010...
I have a show car frame restored to the highest quality standards for sale. Priced low to sell $4000 OBO or best near offer. Price is way less than the cost to restore a frame to this quality. The guy I bought it from said he spent $17,000 to restore another. After that he bought a car for the body and didn't need the frame that came with it. I bought it to replace the frame on my 63 but decided not to and repaired the one it came with. It is located in Houston,TX area. I think the frame is a 66 but am not sure on the differences between years. It will work with all years 63-67 however. I think it is a coupe frame but could be made into a convertible frame by welding on a couple lugs. If you are interested I can send pictures to verify the year. Includes a rear end marked 3.36 ratio and rear spring. Stainless steel brake lines and fuel line installed. Will sell the rear end separately. Oh and I have a restored original steering box for $250.

Nice frame. It has the indent in the front crossmember which started in '65 for big blocks so it's for 65-67 cars. The convertible frame had two added mount brackets between the #3 mounts on each side by the driveshaft depression. They would be about where the inside of each seat would be if the body was on. (Where your tires are stacked in pic #1) . thumbs: Dave

I thought a convertible frame had an extra motor mount on each side rail, just forward of the transmission cross member? The bolt would be accessed by removing the door sill plate. I was unaware of the inner mount additions. Was this '65 forward only? I have only been looking at '63 and '64 frames.

I believe the center mounts began in 64. My 64 convertible was built on the first day of production 9/1/63 and has the center mounts. The rear triangular gussets in the frame forward of the kick ups began about mid 64 as well. There is also the extra mount on each side rail as you stated for convertibles.
63 frames had the side mount brackets placed higher than the other years since there were no rubber cushions used and the body was bolted directly to them.

1. Are the photos of the frame before or after restoration?
2. Has the frame ever been in a collision and straightened?
3. Does the frame have any pitting?
If you would prefer, send me a PM.
Thanks,
Mike

Can't answer about being straightened as I didn't restore it.
I can send you more pictures about pitting.
