bonding adhesive for fiberglass to metal..
Ok, I asked this question over in c4 general with little help. I need to know what to use to bond the fiberglass headlight cover back onto the metal headlight assembly on my 84. It flew off while I was driving down the street. I have no idea if the c4 fiberglass is the same stuff we have or not.

Go to an auto paint supply store and get a tube of panel adhesive. I don't know if that's what the factory used but you can put a battleship together with this stuff.

i rebonded mine with 3m #08219 it was called smc/fiberglass panel andhesive. it is made for metal to fiberglass or fiberglass to fiberglass
it has a 30 min. work time. i paid 28.00 a tube and it took 1 1/4 tubes to do mine. you will need to borrow a applaction gun to apply it. try a body shop. even if you have to leave a deposit and maybe give them some money it would be worth it. the gun is special and you would probaly never need it again and it cost over 100.00. make sure every thing is clean and ready to go before you start. you only have 30 min. max. you can go to 3m web site and look it up yourself. depending on what year you have 68-72 rivets held the metal to a bonding strip and after 73 and up (i have been told) is metal to fiberglass (no rivets).
some people do not put rivets back but i did.
