Ok so last year I had my radiator cleaned and somewhat repaired. So it always had a little leak, but I went and put a hole right in the center of it and now it is un-useable.
I don't have alot of cash to spend. I want to get another brass/copper radiator that looks like the original. I have looked up the ones you can buy from the parts stores and found one for $219. Has anyone bought one? Are they direct fit look alikes of the original? If not what modifications do you need to do in order to get them to fit?
The other option is I found one at a corvette online parts store (dont know if its a supporting vendor) but they are a "central" supplier *hint* of corvette parts. THey have one for 319. Now if its an exact replacement I would pay the extra, but if the parts store replacement is close I would go that route.
Got mine on ebay for around 150 its almost exactly the same as the original . It went in well and works great ! I do not remember the screen name of the guy it was sumthing like radiator guy or warehouse ECT.... I searched on e-bay motors parts and accessoried searched on corvette radiator and it popped up
Was that 150 for a new radiator? If so thats damn cheap!
I emailed one of the sellers and am awaiting a reply. I was so so so very close to buying the radiator from corvette central. Are they a supporting vendor? Cupon code?

The way I read your post is that you are not looking for an original but one that LOOKS original, My suggestion, get the alum. Aftermarket one from Summit. 179.00
Many here have used it with great results and it is pretty much a bolt in part.
Thanks for the suggestion. I did a search on the universal fit summit radiator and it looks like some have had to modify the lower hose inlet on the passengers side to get it to fit.
I do have a friend that welds and he can weld aluminum and I also trust him. So that wouldnt' be a problem moving the lower hose inlet. Although I do wonder how well it fits in the stock radiator support? Some pics would be awsome if anyone has done this.
The Dewitt alum direct fit would be AWSOME, but 500 large is WAY too much for me.
Sometimes I think the 300 for the direct fit copper replacement would be easiest by far. Although I would like aluminum so the summit rad for 179 is appealing but really universal = unknown = PITA
Flood, I have a NIB 75 aftermarket copper brass radiator. The lower hose neck was dented when I opened the box and the company wouldn't take it back. I bought another one then didn't get dented by the truck driver and found the hose necks are a sharp 90* instead of 90* sweeps, like the stock ones are. The shroud didn't fit because it hit the neck. I had to have a radiator shop swap the necks off the original one to the new one.It has worked fine the last 2 years.
I paid over $225 + UPS for this one. It would need the same thing done to it- swapping and testing it cost me $50. I'll sell it for $100 + UPS if you're interested.

I'll make you a great deal. It looks like a still have a Griffin aluminum radiator in stock for years ago. model 6574AF-BAX, which has the auto cooler inside. This lists for over $700, I'll sell it for $395 still in the box
Flood: That is a very good offer from Tom Dewitt! In my opinion you should accept it if you can. Great radiator, great price, great person & company to deal with.
