Default American Racing Vectors Anyone Have them?

Back in the 70's/early 80's when I had my 77 the popular wheel was 15 X8.5 or 15X10 American Racing Vectors. Anyone have these on their C3?

Very much the same.

This was THE wheel on C3s in the late '70s. I haven't seen a set of Vectors in years..............

Sure do. I found a full set of A. R. E. Vector SE's (with 255/60 Goodyear GT Radials mounted on them) being sold by a local hot rod collector/builder. He had taken them off his '67 Corvette--so they came with a great lineage.

And just a couple of days ago I found a fifth Vector, in a little rougher shape, that I'm going to use as the spare. Since I can't get Goodyears, I had to put a Firestone Indy 500 Firehawk on it instead.

I really like these wheels; and I don't see them all over the place, as I do with some other wheels.

Sadly with a 5" backspace. Won't fit on the Vette without a sizable spacer (typical b/s is 3 3/4 to 4").

I still have my old set of AR vectors stacked in the garage. Had them on Project Ramjet before I went to TT II's

It is amazing what a difference wheels make on a car. They give them a totally different persona.

bullshark, hope you dont mind saying that the vector wheels gave, on my opinion, a much more bada$$ stance to your car then the TT2...

I like the TTII's much better on the vette than the Vectors. I guess its just a case of to each his own.

I would if I had a C3. No question that 17 inch TTII's look good on C3's but vectors are like putting Halibrads (sic) on a rat rod they are so period correct. We cleaned them with an acid based wheel cleaner back in the day. I'm sure if I do get another C3 I won't be able to find a set. Don't junk them. It's to see that some of you remember the same things I do.

Not Vectors but Fenton Fanjets, also popular in that era.
