Post your Custom paint job please!
So, my 77 is sitting in the garage fully stripped and sanded with the bumper lines shaved and is waiting to get masked and painted. My only problem is that I don't know what paint scheme to use!!!
I know that I want to use a hugger orange color on the car but I don't want just the single color, looking to offset it with some kind of white detail. Maybe a stripe on the hood or something.
I am looking for ideas so any of you guys that have custom paint jobs, I would appreciate seeing what they look like so I can get my imagination rolling. Can't do anything super complicated cause I am painting myself but I could get fairly detailed.
Thanks in Advance,
John

My friend has a 1955 chevrolet that is two toned hugger orange with cappucino [like coffee with cream in it] on top. I thought it sounded horrible until I seen the car and decided it looked pretty nice. You could do the same only make the stripes the second color.

OK...this is weird...I was looking for pics of that kind of stripe for the last couple of days. Thats not exactly the variation I like, but what kind of car is that seen on usually, or does it have a name for that kind of stripe? Im trying to decide what to paint mine in like 3-4 years when I get done with the frame off and was thinking of that.

Man, I can't get over how great the car looks in Orange, thanks for posting those pics.
I know there are other pics out there too. Flames, stripes, post up anything you guys have, it doesn't have to be orange and white either, I am just looking for ideas

Stripes-cutom paint
I just had my corvette custom painted about a year ago. Went through the same thing you did. I did learn that a corvette, a c-3 if it has stripes, it is only one stripe from the nose to the rear. It also goes across the top of the car including the t-tops. Camaros and Chevelles of that era had two racing stripes but they didn't go over the roof of the car. I am going to try to attach a pix of my car, but haven't got use to working with this forum.
