Laquer vs. Enamel Paint
Just wondering, I have an 81 Vette built at Bowling Green, I know they switched from Laquer in St Louis to Enamel at Bowling Green. Which is better for removal and repainting?

Careful! My 71 came from the factory with ACRYLIC lacquer on it. It now has a new ACRYLIC lacquer paint job on it. The current ACRYLIC lacquer does not have lead in it, but is still real lacquer. You still get the same high when you spray it without a mask.
NITRO CELLULOSE lacquer which was used on older GM cars for many years is no longer made. I'm not sure when the change to ACRYLIC lacquer took place.
I love my lacquer paint job, but it is not right for most cars because the NEW paints are far superior.
Regards,
Alan
