My polish wife Marzena asked me if you are going to work on the car through the brutal winter there. We were there 2 winters ago and I froze my *** off. Rooting you on from South Fla. We know the car will be beautiful when you are done.

That is why the build is going fast. I need to have the frame finished and back on wheels with body installed, before September, when heavy rains will start, than it goes to the garadge under my flat and will work on the interior, I am located in polish mountains, so sometimes it is snowing in October.

Finally had some time and did some work on the chasis, after sand blasting started to weld it together.

and worked on the diff. Exchanged all the berings and seals, repainted, installed new gasket and put it back together. By the way, how much oil goes to it?

Had some time yesterday and worked on the engine. Love the way it looks! I will have to instal new oil filter and spark plugs, but it will be when I will put it in to the frame. Need to work on the transmision, so my question is what is under the cover on the left side of the transmision and how to take it of.

Hi Buba6!

I am sorry I can't help you with your question regarding the transmission cover (but I am sure one of these knowledgable guys will soon)

I just wanted to tell you that I really enjoy reading your thread and the fabulous progress you have made.

Best of luck in getting the car ready to move before the snows come. Keep posting your progress!

My lovely wife made me log on and help you with your question. That cover is over the mechanical govenor system that controls upshift RPM points on the Turbohydramatic 350 transmission (THM 350)
Here is a link to the access and tuning of this system, GREAT JOB! on the Vette.

So a question, how do you think, if the car was running ok before the rebuild, should I change something in the transmission, apart from oil By the way, does it have an oil filter?

Great work. Bet you can't wait to cruise through Poland when you are done. By the way, don't headlights need to be on 24/7 there - hope they won't bother you during the day with you eyes closed.

The transmission oil filter is in the pan. Drop the pan, pull the old filter/tube down and out of the transmission and put a new one in place; install an inexpensive drain fitting in the pan (there are aftermarket pieces that bolt together once you drill a hole in the bottom of the tranny pan) so you can drain the oil before when you need to remove the pan again; and install a new oil pan gasket (put a smear of Permatex gasket sealer #2 on both sides of the gasket and make sure the mating trans and pan faces are free of all grease/oil).

Nice - always get a kick out of ape hangers on a touring bike with a fairing. Looking forward to seeing more of the vette.

Had some time to work on the frame, after reparing it and zinc plating it was painted and started to reasemble the front suspension. Rebuilded the spring and installed new Monroe shock, ofcourse all the bushings were exchanged for new ones, USA made the same with berings, etc.
