Headlights open when I start engine
My 74 vette's headlights open when I start the car, then close in 4-5 seconds. They open normally when the car is running and I turn on the headlights, and close normally when I shut off the lights.
I have followed the diagrams and it seems I do not have the check valve, the hose from the manifold goes directly to a T infront of the dash and then down to the front of the car.
Is this a symptom of the check valve missing?

Do the headlights try to open a little when you floor it? I had a bad check valve, and that was my symptom. Anyway, if you haven't seen this article, it may help you out some, here's the link:

headlights open when car starts
The check valve was the problem. Installed a new check valve and cleaned up the multiple T fittings, now when I start the engine, headlights stay down, and they even seem to come up faster when I do turn on the headlights, and go back down better also.
Thanks for all the advice!
