That was a waste of money. You could have determined the build date from the trim tag. No specific dealer is listed.

Can you get a refund?

Actually - it is worth every dime - i've owned the car for almost 30 years and always thought it came from salt lake city....!

Actually, the information was very specific.

The car went to the Chevrolet Zone HQ in Los Angeles, CA... Probably as a fleet or PR car.

The Chevrolet's Los Angeles zone is STILL in operation. I'm not sure how helpful they'd be, but there exists a small chance that they still have records for the cars assigned to the zone. If you get in touch with the right person, who knows? Talk to people... Who assigned the cars? Who maintained the cars? Who on staff would rate to use a Corvette? All questions you can run past them that might lead you a little further down the line.

When you're trying to trace the history of a forty year old car, any new information is helpful.

Regards,

Time/build date and the date in his data report are probably different. Time/Build only means the day the tag was attached. Date in the report is the date the window sticker was put on it, invoice prepared, manufacturer's statement of origin prepared, and it was driven out to the lot to await shipment.

For bookkeeping purposes, GM considered the car to have been finished on the date in the report.
