Default What are these worth?

I have a set of M1131 Blue Glass tops that are in near "new" condition. I have decided that I will probabaly not be putting these on the car so I am thinking about selling them.

I have searched the forum and had not seen a thread with a complete set or at least a set that were not cracked (at least one of them). I have searched Ebay and found them from $1400 - 2200. I saw a nice set from a Corvette vendor and they were $2200 plus $200 shipping.

I am going to try putting them up on the local Corvette Club's site and craigslist but not sure what I should be getting for them.

I am sending my car in to start the new paint next week so the money would help with that project. I don't need to sell them and could sit on them a while if you guys think they have any future value.

And if anyone has any details on these such as year etc... that would be appreciated too.

Thanks
Joe
Anything you see in the pictures are just reflections. It is hard to take a good picture of these things...

Do a search on eBay for completed auctions. This will tell you what actually sold and for what price.

Can't help with a price. But they don't make the M1131 blue glass anymore. Thats why they can command a high price.

They average for around $1200 or so. I would ask for $1600 and let them go for $1200, no less.

Good Luck!

The dates on LOF glass tops, are the 2 letters to the right of the LOF logo. It's a little hard to tell from the photo, but yours appear to be either "XX" or "NN"?

XX would be February 81, and NN would be January 84.

The "Blue" laminated tops were only factory installed on 78-80 Corvettes. 81-82 tops were tempered, and did not indicate a color on them, except from 82 Collector Edition tops, which were marked "Bronze".

From the dates of your tops (or at least the one pictured), I would say that they are a pair of Chevrolet over the counter tops, and not a pair that came on a car. If those tops were dated for a 78 Pace Car (something like LJ or GJ), they could easily bring $2,000. As blue tops, they're still desirable, but the dates might hurt the value, to someone whose looking for correct tops for a 78-80 Corvette. The one top is missing some of the inside trim pieces too.

I would guess that you might be able to get between $1,000 and $1,500 for them, if you can find someone who has to have blue tops.

Thanks gbvette

Are you talking about the two black covers for the clips? I have those in the bag with the top. These tops have never been on the car.

If they are only $1000 or so I will probably keep them and use them (until they crack) like all the stories I have heard... Once I have the car repainted I was going to look for a set of smoke ones that were tempered as I thought they are more durable. Those tops are around $1000 from what I have seen. If that is the case I will use the Blue for a while.
