Default dream of a c3

Hi,
I am Norbert from Germany.I live and work since 5 years in Canada,BC
As long as I could think, I dream of a C3 Corvette. That Car was, is and will be the best looking car ever!
Unfortunately I have not so much money. Now I found a site in the internet, calledcars.comThere are several Corvettes under 100004
Is that possible to get a corvette that cheap?
There is also a site, vette-hound.There are even more cheap corvettes. But I found some infos that that is a scam site.
So, my dream is still a corvette C3 with manual transmission.Hope I find a real Deal under 10k.
Sorry about my english, I am still learning
Have a wonderfull day,
Norbert

Your english is just fine. I've been to Germany many times. Great country. We'd love to have your speed limits.

Yes it's possible to find them under 10K but remember...The cheapest Vette U buy may be the most expensive Vette you will ever own.

Also check out www.autotrader.com and www.usedcorvettesforsale.com

If you need any help just ask forum members for their opinion.

GLWP (good luck with purchase)

I'm sure there are lots of C3's in Canada. How many in B.C.? Not so many, I'm thinking. The internet auto sales sites have lots of cars to offer; but, you shouldn't think of buying any of them unless you can actually inspect the car in person...or have someone you trust to do that for you.

Do you have specific model years that you are considering? Now is a good time for you to find one at reasonable prices, but getting one in good condition at $10K is doubtful, except for mid-70's cars ('75-'79, perhaps). For cars before '73, $15K is more likely. If you can do some of the restoration work yourself, that initial cost number may be lower; but then you have the cost of restoration work to add back in.

Also 'original condition' cars will be significantly higher cost than modified cars. You can find some nice modified cars with modern engines/transmissions for less money than original cars with drivetrains in worse condition. Again, it is all about what year, what type of car, and what condition it has that determines value.

Don't hesitate to ask more questions on this Forum. Most of us here would like to help you achieve your "dream". Good luck with your search.

Norbert,
I lived in Germany for three years and your English is much better than my Deutsch.

Good luck finding the right car. Plenty of good deals for under 10K.

For 10k I'm sure you can find a later C3 in decent condition.
One good thing about BC is that they don't salt their road, here in Montreal you should see how bad winter road salt can eat the crap of any car.
I remember when shopping for a Vette passing a 9k$ mint '80 that had been brought from Vancouver, the frame was simply spotless.
It was a nice car, but it was painted metallic purple, and I'm not fan of the back bubble.

No salt in the PNW, do be careful about California cars, though, there are ones that lived on the sandy beaches and (I know, who knew) salt, sand and water rust cars.

If you're willing to travel down the the Southeast part of the U.S., I know where there's a '77, great shape, that'll fit your budget.

PM sent.
