alternator question, how many volts?
just had my alternator professionally rebuilt and went to an electronic (external) voltage regulator.....installed it tonight, and at 2k rpm i am reading 14v at alternator and about 13.8 at battery. is that ENOUGH?? thanks, Rick

Could be you need to get an amp meter that can read up to 200amps. harbor freight has them for like 9 bucks. With head lights on and radio on the alt should be b/w 13.6-14.4volts and in the 125-170amp range depending on alt. 14 volts is not a need for concern. If your lights aren't dimming or idle dropping when headlights are on you should be fine if it was just rebuilt.
