Pls Pm if you can help me. I am looking at a number matching 427 390 hp 1969 convertible for 25K, 35,000 original miles. Can you help me with the value of the car? It has the CE stamp i am refering to/

It's not numbers matching, no matter what sort of spin the seller is feeding you.
It's a replacement block.

Hi George,
It would be nice if just the block was replaced and ALL the other parts... heads, intake, water pump, etc., were moved from the broken block to the CE block.
Although the block wouldn't have the original St.Louis stamps on it, the other parts would be number and date typical for the car.
If the rest of the car is very original, a very nice 69 CE 427 might still be a great car to own and enjoy at a price that reflects the fact that the original block is gone.
What's the rest of the car like?
Regards,
Alan

Even if the engine block is not original, $25K could still be a very attractive price if there's a lot of plusses with the car. Rust free frame, no collision repaired body, interior that still looks new, good paint and excellent chrome, clean engine, accessories...PS/PW/PB AM/FM Stereo. ..and would it be AC? 35,000 miles, if true, is a valuable feature.

if it doesn't have the original motor, the you have investigate is it really a big block car. Without paperwork , POP, those prem72 cars can be anything you care to add enough parts to.
I saw maybe 30 small block c2 's converted to BB cars back in the 90's......sure all the owners are certain they now have original BB cars . Most of these had 396/427's restamped block pads.
I don't trust any C2 restorations as having their original components after 10 years of watching BB appear out of literally nothing ....ie burnt, totally wrecked hulks.
