Default HELP 82 owners!!!

Has anyone bought the Renegade intake for there 82 Crossfire?? If so please tell me if you had any trouble aligning the bolt holes. My first one I had to enlarge the holes for it to fit, to get it to snug down, well DCS just sent me a second one that supposingly was test fitted on there 84. This second one is just like the first, I can only get half the bolts in using a set of FelPro gaskets for what the car calls for. I will say the car pulls strong all the way to redline with that intake but mann come on.....If I remove the gaskets the holes align right up.

Sounds like the gaskets are your problem.

Is your block decked or heads shaved? Wont that make any intake harder to align?

Yes I do, think we might have found the issue. Can't tell unless the heads are removed but they might have been milled for some reason or another. Using FelPro MS93317 (blue)

ZZ4 heads will probably work well with the combo too if you are staying on the conservative side .

are you replacing the cam and getting a custom chip made also?

Good question, if I replace the cam I might just pull the motor and rebuild it. Car has 91K miles on it so not sure. But I will replace the heads this winter for sure. I have a generic Jet chip in there now because the original prom went bad.
