'69 vette "expert" near Kissimmee, FL.?
I am wondering if there is anyone out there or if ya'll know of someone around the Kissimmee, Fl. area that would be interested in checking out a '69 L36? I am scheduled to fly down, buy, and drive it back to Va. on Sept. 19th. I have sent a deposit and am learning tremendously about these cars. I've restored several cars/trucks so am pretty knowledgable about the general stuff. Just never had a vette so don't know the specifics to look for. Any help or lead would be appreciated.

I live in Orlando fl, and would be willing to go over and look at the car for you, I have knowledge in cars and only have been a corvette owner for couple of years, I have a 1969 BB convertible and did have a SB covertiible that I sold. I would be willing to go and check it for gas money. I was going to buy a car and had it checked out, the guy charged me 350.00$ for his time and gas.. Good thing I had him check it out, the car would have cost me more then what I have now. I will PM my phone number.

I want to thank c69vete and harris1507, Randy and Bill, for going and looking at a vette for me. They didn't hesitate to volunteer and did a very good job with the inspection. They even took pics, notes and a video to document what they had found. Thanks guys for a job well done!!
What they looked at for me is a matching numbers 427/390 , 1969 t-top car with factory side exhaust. (replaced with what looks like stainless material.) 4 spd, leather int. Recently repainted back to original 984 Daytona Yellow color. Engine has had a top end rebuild with new lanati cam, timing chain and gears, oil pump. Trying to locate mechanic that did work but it has been a couple years so... At least it was done by a pro. Car has a few issues that are common with a car that hasn't been driven or gotten much attention lately. Owner has had it for around 7 years and has put on only approx. 1000 miles. Headlight and wiper flaps need some work along with a few minor things that are right down my alley.
So I feel like my search was well worth the effort. I wanted a car that I could drive and enjoy now but has/had good value with a little work. I wanted good power as in a big block, good looking body, and not a lot of major work right away. I found this car which gives me those things. I found a couple small blocks that were most likely in a little better condition for right around the same price, but I enjoy some work on older cars and this is a big block, matching numbers car. To hard to resist!!
I can't wait till sept. 19th when I am flying down to Fl. and driving back to Va.!!!!
Thanks again to Randy and Bill and all on this forum for their help. I am fairly new here and am finding this forum friendly, helpful and informative. For the most part everyone (mostly) checks there egos at the door and has some good info and opinions to pass along. Thanks again everyone.

That's really cool of c69vete and harris1507. I had a similar good experience when a forum member Kap142 checked out a car for me, except in my case, the car wouldn't have been a wise choice. Saved me a lot of headaches and money.
It's great to see this kind of camaraderie is alive and well.
