Hi t,
I believe in 69 the under car exhaust system for all sb cars was 2" diameter.
In 68 I believe an 'off road' system was offered as an option that was 2 1/2" in diameter.
In 70 the LT-! had 2 1/2" exhaust as part of it's option package.
Regards,
Alan

Hi t,
The hanger needs to be changed, but that's not a big deal at all.
Regards,
Alan
The trans mount bolts need to be removed and the rear of the trans jacked up just enough so that you can get the 2" hanger out and the 2 1/2" hanger in place.

If you're going to put 2.5s on, you're going to need the 2.5 hanger as Alan said. The clamps just won't fit properly otherwise - the curvature is different.
I vastly prefer stock parts, but I deviated from this for the exhaust on my 1970 and installed a 2.5 N11 system. It is an L-46 so originally had 2.0 pipes. N11 is the system Alan noted above that was offered as an off-road option in 1968. It has a stock look, is quiet at idle, and sounds great under throttle. Basically the mufflers have two baffles instead of three, and that's about it. Maybe you already have a system, just throwing it out there. Came from Corvette Central and installed fairly easily.

Hi T,
Corvette Central will make a set of stock exhaust for your car with the off-road mufflers.
They will make it with the original carbon steel pipe or aluminized pipe.

Alan
