a/c compressor rattles when idling
just put in a new (reman) ac compressor in my 1980..it blows cold and works great but the compressor rattles really loud, only at idle, 500 rpm..at 700 rpm and above it is completely quiet...any idea's..bad compressor? Or are all C3's noisy?

I have a couple rookie questions:
Did the instructions advise you to add compressor oil...or did you use "Freon" that contained compressor oil.....if not--don't turn the A/C on until you get some compressor oil in the system.
Does the sight gauge show streams of bubbles when the compressors "kicks on"....which would mean air in the system?
