A BBC with an aluminum intake and a big Holley on top is damned sexy!

Nice covers! Do you know if aluminum roller rockers fit under those (.600 lift)?

505 BBC. The dyno came in at 580/600 with tunnel ram. Have not tuned it for the fuel injection yet. Might need to rebuild it again.

1965 396/425hp we just built for my dads 65' vert..

Made 441hp/435tq thru stock manifolds and a 650 DP carb... (Have a 780cfm for it now). Compression is 10.0-1, stock #208 rect port heads, Straub HYD roller, Autotec pistons/Scat 4340 I beam rods, GM 6223 Forged crank. We figure it will make 470hp or so with the 780 cfm carb and some more tuning. Exhaust manifolds are the killer...side pipes will be even worse..

My 496 in my 71':

Made 657hp/672tq. Runs mid 10s at 3660lbs.

That's for all the great pix, getting great ideas,

Ummm...well, mine looks rather to me
But...it IS a warm 454...when I swapped the 383 for it the fellow thought the 454 was really radical but really it was just so very out of tune and had a bad vacuum leak, now it just has a low rumble and perhaps a mild cam,
The tiny little air filter was all I could find in a hurry and the 73 hood still didn't like it, all the red wires are from some electric fan testing....

I scored a pair of cool to me old school Cal Custom style "no Name" valve covers, so if anyone wants my GM chrome ones, not perfect but "driver" you can have them for shipping costs... ( taken ...gone )

Just wondering where was your vacuum leak. My motor at idle 800 rpm only makes 8-9 pounds vac and was wondering if that could cause my rough idle and poor bottom end performance. Thanks

I had several vacuum leaks,
The intake wasn't sealed down good, and my car was modded and messed with in the past the vacuum lines for head lights and the one running into the fan control ( I do not have factory ac ) leaked, in fact many c3's leak at the vacuum lines in many cases not enough for people to notice or care...

My engine sounded ragged to me, the timing was way too advanced, the carb was a mess and all the vacuum leaks, actually it's a wonder how it got home the 2 hour drive after engine swap..

Sometimes a silly high rpm cam can do weird stuff....

Stock rocker arms fit. No problem. Aluminum roller rocker (.600 lift) most likely will require the thick spacer gasket available for this type of application . That is what the covers on my Dart engine required and they are very similar those pictured.
