I have tried putting my VIN into the decoder here on this site as well as another one, BOTH say the VIN has to be 17 characters long, I am only coming up with 13 on the drivers side windshield pillar. What am I missing? I have a C3 1977.

I don't believe they started using the 17 digit VIN until 1981 or there abouts.

THANK YOU! I was really hoping I was not about to have a real problem here! What about the trim tag? Where can I find a decoder for that?

Same link go to the top of the page and click on 1977 corvette center. Left column to click " production & performance" for ext and int. decodes.
