I am a C5 owner but I need some info about a C3.so I thought I would visit this forum.I have found a barn find C3 Stingray Corvette in Tillamook OR on the Oregon coast,it is a 1972 one owner vette with 49K on the clock.I don't know a lot more about it,but the body is straight and all the glass and normal parts of the car are intact as they should be.The owner says it will start and run.I didn't get more info as the owner had to leave and I live a 100 miles away.I don"t know what model it is ,but it does have a "T"Top if that helps.I believe he wants 10K for it.Any help here will be greatly appreciated.BTW I have some concerns about the salt air on the coast effecting the vette
Thanks
Fred
No pictures as I didn't have a camera at the time I found out about the car

Reason: update
You are a brave man! If that C3 is roadworthy (or even close), don't let it slip through your C5 fingers.
(For example: I have $9,000 invested in my '68 convertible/basket-case.....and it still needs replacement "nose" and tail light body panels to even qualify as a "resto-mod")
Interesting find, had a 2004 and I would characterize the C5 as a luxury modern sports car, no doubt a great vehicle! The C3 suspension origins go back to 1963 with the first C2. So a big difference in technology. I would get a copy of Richard Prince's C3s buyer guide; may be out of print, check Amazon or ebay. The design of C3 is classic!! easily known as a Corvette!! Not to mention, the looks and waves are priceless driving a C3!
A 72 for 10 warrants a close look if in decent shape. If possible contact your local Corvette club or NCRS, ck the internet, you will likely find some C3 lovers who would like to check out the Corvette for nominal money, beer or a nice meal.
As the old saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. If you snapped any pictures when you inspected the car, you can upload them to this thread. Once you do this, you'll get valuable input and opinions from the many of the knowledgeable Corvette Forum members.
