Old pictures of your old corvettes when they were new?
I really liked the story of the member who found his dad's 73 vette and especially the old picture of him in that new-old vette. I don't know what it is, but I just enjoy seeing pictures of these old cars when they were new (or at least newish) and there's not a ton of stuff on the internet. I would love to see all of your old pictures because I wasn't around for the first half of the C3 generation and I kind of feel like I missed out on something pretty cool.

Hi Barry,
There has been a recent thread about this subject.
Here's one of the best pictures of old Corvettes I've seen. It's from Forum member Ralph Spears. 2bbs, an LT-!, and a convertible! NICE!
And another one that illustrates that they were really just another car; stock #219, to a dealer.
Regards,
Alan

Thanks Alan. I searched for this topic but didn't find anything. Love the photograph. It's my new desktop background.

I've got a couple negatives that have my dad and presumably his first wife standing next to his '68 vette in the early/mid '70s. They unfortunately don't show the entire car, just the front portion. Haven't found a place to print photos from a negative without sending it out yet. I also have a photo of him racing in '72-3 but it's misplaced in the pile of paperwork at my mom's. I need to find that photo sometime.

The best I can do is a couple of photos of a roached out 63 my dad bought in 1985 from Pro Team or whatever it was called at that time - Specialized Investment Auto - maybe. Anyway, I'm looking pretty satisfied with my 10 year old self in my Ohio State jacket, leaning up against a Corvette.

Here it was from the side. Check out the pogo stick in the background.
67 doors and fenders, not one thing right. Sat just like that for 10 years. Never touched it. Took it to Iowa to get the body done and eventually sold it. It's now beautifully restored and last I knew was owned by an employee at a well known Chevrolet/Corvette dealership in Ohio.

Hi Barry,
That IS a nice picture!
It really tells so much!
It's funny as kids finally get old enough to stop tripping and falling down they learn how to do THAT LEAN!
Regards,
Alan
These have been seen a lot but I'll add them again.
April 1971.

C3 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
I am guessing the summer of 76, the next 35 years it was steel city gray, then electric blue the last 3 years.

My Fathers car!
1st and only Owner bought new as shown off of the DANA Chevrolet Hi-Performance lot in 1968. Dealer painted the 1969 Gold with the tail painted black like they did on all of their special cars, Dealer setup suspension with 1960's Guldstrand tweeks on F-41, dealer installed American racing rims, Dealership installed Hooker "Race" headers/side pipes which was probably the very first set installed in the US, J-56 brake car, fly eye air cleaner, plus other tuner tweeks to the engine, and a scattershield, etc. and set up we assume by Dale Armstrong R.I.P. .
This picture was the first day he took it to work, following the weekend when he bought it!
My Father talked the dealership out of one of these! And this is probably the only one that still exists. Thus you guys know how rare DANA Chevrolet stuff is!
And the NCRS thing!

Hi Barry,
2 more from Ralph Spears.
His 69 just off the truck at the dealership.
And then his 73 just off the train at the rail yard.
I hope Ralph will add a bit of detail.
I THINK the 69 had a serious meeting with a telephone pole??
Regards,
Alan

Hi jr,
Ralph has owned and still owns some interesting cars.
Plus, he's had some memorable experiences too.
I believe I remember an old picture of him with Zora Duntov.
Regards,
Alan

Newish. Me and my 1979 L-82 about 30 years ago. Love the Western Cyclone II mag wheels with Eckler's spinners, LeBra, and fancy stripes.
That car is still on the road.

Between them and Yenko, York was quite the Chevrolet Muscle car haven!
I bet Fords and Mopars treaded lightly when passing thru, so as to not awaken something viscous from those two Dealerships! That is one bad a$$ dealership plate to own! I wish more of the inserts were saved!
