Sent my 68 vert to the body shop and ordered a new front and rear clip along with the passenger side door skin. The PO's attempt at body repair fell way short of the mark and only made things worse. Can't wait to get it home and start putting it back together.

Sadly nothing
BUT
I did re-tile my kitchen's splash back.
Earned myself some major Brownie points with the wife that I
will cash in soon...eg I've got a week off (soon) and plan on installing
my new TRW composite spring and maybe installing my new Amp and
kick panel speakers.....without hassles or interruptions.
Cheers,
Gavin.

My wife loves it when I bake paint on car parts in her oven. She says it makes her cakes taste like car grease. Is it just her excuse ?

I could only dream of working on the corvette today. We have an additional 3 1/2 inches of snow out there and it is still coming down hard. Just waiting for it to stop so I can start cleaning it . Is it just me or is anybody else " SICK OF THIS WINTER "

I replaced the well nuts that hold the under hood light to the hood. I than thought about taking the car out for a ride but it started to snow

Oh well, hopefully I'll take her for a spin next weekend.

Yes, it has been a horribly cold one. My natural gas heating bill will be off the chart despite a 96% AFUE furnace. Corvette? May see again in two months.

I found the corrosion gremlin in my distributor!!!!! Spent an hour cleaning it and a bunch of ground studs, replaced a couple of rotten wires, replaced 30 year old crusty genuine gm hardware with stainless and star washers then oddly enough my car started for the first time in months.

Like you guys I'm tired of winter too but I hate to complain about our temperatures when I hear about some of yall's.

Default fun day

Assembled my new HF 20 ton press. Proceeded to remove the u joints from the half shafts. The first one was routine the second one not so much. I pushed the u joint so hard it popped the end off the cap. I turned it over, same thing happened. I also bent that flange. Need to buy a replacement. All in all great weekend working in my new garage with new tools. Live is good

I feel for you . I can't even imagine dealing with your winters up there . My gas bills for my house and working garage have been over $300. and I also have newer fuel efficient furnaces.

this is my first week back from deployment. I haven't seen my vette yet because the garage is blocked from snow. I have all the parts waiting in my buddy's basement till I close on my house and move the vette there. then the games will begin

I took measurements on the front suspension to find out why my right side upper control arm shims are all jacked up.

Did this over the weekend. Although the fan I used I got from a swap meet. Let the car idle until it got to about 210* turned on fan and the temp started to drop within a couple minutes down to about 190*.

[/QUOTE]Made a fan shroud out of a baking sheet. The large black fan is a junkyard fan that lasted me about a year. The baking sheet was about $20 and the Syclone fan was about $110 from amazon.

Default ignition lock cylinder

I finally figured why I couldn't get the old cylinder out. The car is an 80 and column is pretty 79. Wrong new cylinder as well. I have to exchange the new one now.
