Default Header & Side Pipe Help!!!

Hi everyone, I am restoring my father's Corvette and I am in the process of buying headers and side pipes.

Can any of you recommend a manufacturer that will give me the best bang for my buck? So far I have seen a couple on Ebay like OBX, is that a good option or is that a cheap low quality product?

ANY and ALL help is greatly appreciated!!!

I have OBX on my car, No fitment issues and are holding up well after a couple years.

I had Hookers on my 63 and they would rust and require painting every so often. I just got a set of Doug's ceramic coated headers and side pipes for my 74. They look good, but I can't say on how they hold up yet. I have not heard anything bad about OBX. I got mine from Corvette Central as a kit. They weren't cheap, but Corvette Central has been good with tech advice when I needed it. I just don't know if I want to put mufflers in them. Didn't on my 63 and I loved 'em. I was 19 then I'm 60 now so we will see.

I also just installed Doug's ceramic coated headers on my 78. If you are not EXTREMELY careful, they scratch with the slightest contact. I also made the mistake of sliding my muffler too far onto the header and it left permanent gouge marks when I pulled it back out. If I had to do it again I would have bought the chrome ones.

Thanks for the heads up about the scratches, Heus. I normally wear mechanix gloves whenever I work, but it appears I need to be careful about metal on metal contact.
