Default WANTED; 427 Pistons

WANTED; 427 Pistons, standard bore 390/400 HP.

The casting numbers inside are 3925580RH and 3925579LH.

The engine has 3931063 heads that are closed 101cc combustion chambers.

I need to replace a few detonation damaged pistons in a L36 427 engine. Looking to buy stock replacement pistons or used but usable condition stock pistons still on connecting rods.

At this time my budget does not allow a complete rebuild with new pistons, only a replacement of what is broken.

Please send me a PM with what you have.

first, you have to request pistons for open chamber heads or closed chamber heads.2nd,I personally think you would be better off changing all eight. You are going to need a set of rings with that.TRW used to sell cast pistons that were reasonable.A 390h.p.turning 5400rpm thats all you'll need.

If you can't find one here's the cheapest, decent ones I would use.http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ue...make/chevrolet

I have L2300F in mine and they are a decent budget forged piston.

I would give some thought to having the rods reconditioned. The machine shop would press the pins in the pistons at the same time.

I have a set of 8. One of them has a piece of the piston skirt chipped off. Which is the reason I am replacing them. I actually replaced them with the pistons the other guys were mentioning. The L2300NF pistons. I'm not sure what these pistons are worth or what your looking to spend, but I'll do some research and see if we can come up with a number. If your interested I'll post some pictures later this evening.

Have full set of relatively low mile TRW/SpeedPro L2300F (242-99) standard slugs on 3/8" rods available, no damage. Willing to disassemble them to sell only the pistons, but no singles.

With help from the forum members and my local machine shop, I almost have the engine repaired.

However I am still in need of one more standard bore 3925580RH piston.

If anyone is interested I now have one extra piston that I can't use. It is a factory GM .010 over standard bore 3925580RH piston.

Thank you.

FYI, the OP is apparently only looking for a single piston.
