PAGING: Chuck Harmon - if you're around i got a question?
Or if anyone else can answer me that is fine. I am looking for the exact cam specs of the L88 camshafts. i know there was an early L88 cam that was about .560/.580 and the one chuck had at .540/.560...anyone know the other specs such as duration, lash, the timing of the events (open, close)...

Part #3925535 was an off road cam for the L-88. This is a bunch of cam. Valve events were 48/98 for the intake and 96/58 for the exhaust. That works out to a duration of 326/334 with an IC of 115 and a LCA of 112.
Part #3959180 was for the ZL-1. It was almost the same cam but with .560/.600 lift.

thanks guys...i needed the complete specs because i think this is going in my 84 C4 and i'm topping it with fuel injection...so i needed a ballpark for a starter bin file for the ECM...speaking of which...anyone really really good at tuning the 7747 ECM?

i'll probably make another thread here, but i'll send this one up for the time being
does anyone know what happened to the crossfire vault/forum? i haven't been able to get in for almost a week? is it really down or just me?
as is such, i have no real easy way of getting a hold of dan or bill, two people i'll be needing to converse with in the coming weeks...my 7747 is ready for shipment and i need to see how big of a TB dan can bore...

EFI with a L-88 cam? I don't think so! Unless you are running a "Alpha N" system. There isn't a EFI ECM anywhere that will allow this cam to run "stable" because of the overlap of the GM L-88 cam.

it's always worth a shot...if all else fails i can always swap out the cam, but i wanted to build this like my father had it running (besides the EFI) back in 69...

"stable"...
this makes me wonder what would happen if i tried it...but if it for sure will not work 100% then i can't afford to take the chance and i'd rather go full carb than waste 400 bucks for throttle bodies only to have to spend another 500 for a good carb...i wanted this to go together the way my dad had it built in 1969 minus of course the EFI i'd try to add...
is it just the overlap that makes this cam untunable? i mean i've seen some pretty outrageous cams tuned to run on the street but it took alot of datalogging and dyno pulls to get it right...
