Default Photo of horns on a 73

Does anybody have a photo of the factory correct mounting for the horns on my 73? The AIM doesn't show it or I can't find it.

Thanks,
Wes

My 73 has only one horn mounted. I will look through my AIM sometime this week and see what I can find. I have to get the other horn cause it sounds kinda lame with just one, and it's the high note.

Interesting,..I only have one horn as well,..and I can only find one connector (the green wire). Most old Chevy's have a jumper wire between two horns, as is shown in Duke94's photos (Thanks Duke!).

Surely 73's have two horns,..a high tone and a low tone. The catalogs seem to indicate this. But can someone confirm? Or did 73's only get one horn?

I know that 72s only had one horn (sounds kind of weak without the other tone) and I assume that 73s had the same. My 77 Buick Electra only had one horn and it was a 14000 mile car, original to our family.

Wow I had just assumed that Bubba had been around mine in years past. If they all came with only one, why does Corvette America sell them in the high/low note pairs?

I do not like the wimpy sound tho...so there just may well be a second horn in the future.

Because of people like you that think the single horn sounds dopey. The dual horn will work fine, so they sell them for you to retrofit with.

When I had a 66 that had no horns at all, I went to my local salvage yard. I found the old car section, a still good battery, and I tested the horns before I pulled them out. Twenty minutes of work gave me a matched set of horns that worked. If you want the second horn, make sure you get the right note. I don't remember which one is original to the car but I am so da$* tone deaf that I all I know is that they sound great together and terrible by themselves.

Default Two Horns

My 79 has two horns that are mounted one to the left and one to the right of the centre of the nose. Sorry I don't have a picture to post for you.
