Default 1975 Fuel tank bladder

Guys, looking at a '75 that the bladder has shrunk per the orig. owner so the car only holds about 13gals. IF it were to need a new tank someday, I can't find the bladders. Any help, advise? Car sat for years w/ tank empty so he thinks the bladder shrunk.

If memory serves, you should be able to remove the piece that the fuel cap goes into. If so, you should be able to look inside and see what's going on. I know when my '76 reads empty, I can only get in 11 gallolns or so. However, I know there is still a lot of fuel in the tank at this reading which I believe is a guage or sending unit problelm. Maybe that's what is going on with the car.

Just pull the bladder out. Use the topmost portion of it, cut out, as a gasket for the sender.

My tank was virgin clean inside when I pulled the bladder out.

You can scrap the bladder, but just remember that it was put in for safety reasons to keep fuel from spilling in the event of an accident. These cars, as we all know, are made of fiberglass which doesn't do well when ignited. Just my 2 cents.

I pulled my bladder also on my 75 when I went to dual pickups at the bottom of the tank and it was brand new looking inside. Just pull it out and run without

thanks for the input! Though I would prefer to have a bladder, if I buy this car and it has a problem I know how to proceed. Amazed that no one makes a bladder for these or sells the new tanks w/ one.
