Default Transmission

Hey I have a '79 corvette and I am currently in the process of supercharging it and I wanted to put a better transmission in it. I was wondering if anyone has changed out there 4-speed for a 5-speed or even 6-speed. I was wondering about the prices, what type of transmission, what brand and any other info that you guys might be able to help me with.

Six speeds generally require modifications to the trans tunnel to get them to fit. Many five speed manuals will fit.

Many have swapped the Muncie for a 5 or 6sp.
Its a very desireable thing to do for a Strong performing
C3 vette. I Went with the Richmond 6sp(ROD) 4yrs ago. I have the Description of how it went Here

Check it out If you like. The trans was $3100 at the time, the work I did at a friends Shop , I had good fabrication equipt available.
