Power Seat 1982 Stopped Working
Power seat stopped working yesterday in my 1982 Vette.
Can someone tell me if it would be the switch or is there any fuse I should check...
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks!

There is a 35 amp power accy circuit breaker. Follow the orange/blk strip wire from the switch back to the breaker to find it.
Everything comes from the PWR and ACCY on the fuse panel. Thats just up on the right side of the fuse panel.

Take the switch apart and clean the contacts. It's probably just dirty. You can get a can of spray contact cleaner from Radio Shack. I replaced 2 seat motors before I realized it was the switch...
Good Luck.

when you take out the seat ,check that you have power at the electrical disconnect. if you have power there ,check the wires under the seat cushion.they break .the switch like shaggyvette said also gets dirty.

Real simple. Two screws hold the switch panel and switch to the seat. Just un-do it and pull the switch apart. You may need to pry it a little. Be careful and don't forget to unhook the battery while you do it. Either sand or spray the stuff I told you about and see if that helps. Most times it is all that needs to be done.
Good luck!

thanks.... I did remove the switch... however, it was simply a pinched wire... re-organized the wires a bit and I am back in business.. seat works great!!
