Pulley story make me crazy !!
I have a 1979 corvette with:
-power steering
-alternator
-A/C removed
i want to install a CS130 alternator but I can't !!! because my V-belt pulley donesn't work !
pulley set up before CS130 upgrade:
-1 pulley with 2 grooves on my water pump
-1 pulley with 2 grooves on my cranckshaft
-1 pulley with 1 groove on my cranckshaft (in frony of 2 groos pulley and smaller)
-1 pulley with 2 grooves on my alternator ????
-1 pulley with 1 groove for my power steering pump
my CS130 has a short shaft so i can't bolt my 2 groove pulley !! and i can use the stock V-belt pulley because the belt hit the P/S
case !!!!
any idea !?

Hi Jerome. Don't worry about your English, it's a hell of a lot better that my French.
Did you mean "you can't use the stock V belt pulley"? I'm guessing thats what you meant.
I thought the only difference with a CS 130 was that the stator was 130 mm wide, compared to 121 mm for a CS 121 (if that's what you had before) and that the (single) pulley was still in the same place.
Have you got the belts in the right place, alternator on the rear pulley on water pump and crankshaft, the front pulley on the water pump and crankshaft reserved for the air conditioning compressor, and the front pulley on the crankshaft to the power steer pump?
If the only problem is that the alternator belt hits the power steer pump body, then how about a smaller belt which pulls the alternator closer to the rocker cover and the belt away from the pump? I use an 11A1360 belt. 11 meaning 11mm wide, "A" meaning the profile of the belt, and 1360 meaning the length. This brings the alternator very close to the rocker cover, but gives clearance to the pump.

In case this helps.
I changed to a slightly longer PS belt- for a cross reference Gates 7365.
Stock alt. this was to move the PS slightly out.
You only need 1 alt. belt. Agree 2 would be good w/o A/C.
